This sharp cartoon is from The Wizard of Id – a classic daily newspaper comic strip created by Brant Parker and Johnny Hart in 1964 to satirize modern American culture and politics. The strip deals with the goings-on of the rundown and oppressed shabby kingdom called “Id”. It mostly concentrates on the court of a tyrannical, dwarfish monarch known only as “the King” which refers to his subjects as “Idiots”. In some strips the king is elected to his monarchial position (albeit through rigged ballots). The king also run an inept army perpetually at war with “the Huns”, while the unhappy, overtaxed peasants (or Idiots) make little money as farmers and stablehands to keep modest living.
Whether conclusions should be drawn from this plot regarding the current socio-economic reality is your decision.
Remember the Golden Rule! Whoever has the gold, makes the rules!!

A sad/accurate description of our culture. We’ve accomplished nothing – the difference between the haves and the have nots is just as great or greater today as it was in Europe between the rulers and the serfs. The slaves have simply been moved from the fields to buildings. whoop whoop

[…] Elon Musk is under scrutiny and facing regulation from the federal government. And, “surprisingly”, he dumped millions of dollars into his candidate’s campaign. Now he is in position to regulate and de-fund the people regulating him. And, investigations into his companies are now being halted. This is a blatant, publicly viewable, case of influence peddling. But, most government manipulation goes on under the radar. We are supposed to live in a small d democratic society with government of the people, by the people, and for the people. But, the reality is that it’s still a caste system of haves vs have nots. Who was it who said the golden rule is: Those who have the gold make the rules? […]
